Nafuu is married to a driver and has six children, four of whom are attending school. She has been operating a café for the last 12 years, and aspires to open a hotel in future. Her other sources of income include earnings from her husband. Nafuu joined Yehu because they care for their clients. Most of her customers are her neighbors. She lives in her own house that has electricity but no piped water.
With the Ksh 40,000, she plans to purchase wheat flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
