María works for the Ministry of Education, in a town in León department. She works as a janitor. She has been in this job for eight years. Her nuclear family is made up of her husband and a son who is already married. María has a health problem and, in order to completely treat her illness, she decided to visit Ceprodel to request a loan to pay for treatment. The loan will give her the opportunity to have the treatment, which is costly. María can only make progress and enjoy better conditions and a better standard of living with Ceprodel's help. She will use her loan to pay for examinations, buy medicines, have some x-rays done and pay for doctors' visits.
La señora maría labora en el ministerio de educación de un municipio del departamento de león, desempeñándose como conserje del mismo, con 8 años de ejercer dicha actividad, su nucleo familiar lo componen su esposo y un hijo ya casado, la señora maría presenta un problema de salud y para tratárselo de manera completa decidió visitar ceprodel para solicitar un financiamiento y poderse efectuar dicho tratamiento ya que el mismo le daría la oportunidad misma de efectuárselo ya que es costoso y solo con la ayuda de ceprodel puede salir adelante y tener mejores condiciones y nivel de vida, ya que lo utilizara para pago de exámenes, compra de medicamento, tomarse unas placas y pago de consulta.
This loan is administered by Centro de Promocion del Desarrollo Local (CEPRODEL), one of Kiva’s larger partners in Central America. Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
