Mekar Mandiri Group
In this Group: Ida, Rani, Sri, Hariroh, Sri, Marliah
Hariroh is one of the group member of Mekar Mandiri group. She has been selling "nasi uduk" (Indonesian rice with coconut) since 2010. From her business she was able to buy a motorcycle on credit to ease her buying of ingredients. Also she was able to help her husband to save money for their child's school fees.

Now she plans to use her part of this loan to buy dishes like tofu, tempeh and eggs for her "nasi uduk" to sell. She hopes her business will keep running smoothly and she can give a better education to her children.

Other group members plan to use their part of loan to help their businesses: sewing, selling rice and selling clothes on credit.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
