Silva
Silva has run an agricultural business in Getahovit village, Tavush region about 17 years. She breeds cows and pigs, grows fruits and vegetables, and runs a bee-keeping operation. Her business produces milk, cheese and butter, as well as fruits and vegetables. This provides for her family but volume from these agricultural products is small. Silva also sells piglets and produces honey which allows her to meet most of her family’s needs. With income from her occupation Silva was able to buy furniture for her house, pay for her children’s education, and pay for her younger son’s wedding.
Silva is married and she has two sons. Silva’s husband works as a forester and helps his wife in her agricultural business. Silva’s sons and her younger son’s family also live with Silva and they also help her with farming.
Silva needs an 800.000 Armenian dram loan to buy three calves and to construct five new beehives. The calves will allow Silva to produce dairy products for future sales. Silva and her husband will displace young bees in the five new beehives to increase their bee families in the near future.
