Benkadi is a group of married women with an average age of 30 and 4 children. They live in traditional families in Dialanikoro, one of the neighborhoods in the city of Bougouni (the third largest administrative region in Mali). To meet the needs of their clientele, they are on their third collaboration with Soro Yiriwaso, a microfinance organization. This group of women are in the business of shoes (via Korotoumou) and clothing. Korotoumou, with her hand in the pail in the photo, will use her loan to buy 100 pairs of shoes. She buys her inventory from wholesalers in Bougouni. She resells from her home and at the market to a clientele of women and men, for cash and credit. She expects to earn an average monthly profit of 30,000 FCFA, a part of which will be used to help her husband with daily expenses. The other part will be invested in her business.

BENKADI est un groupe de femmes mariées ayant en moyenne 30 ans, 4 enfants et vivant dans des familles traditionnelles à DIALANIKORO, un des quartiers de la ville de Bougouni (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur troisième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de chaussures à travers KOROTOUMOU , et des habits.
KOROTOUMOU , avec sa mai dans le seau sur la photo, compte acheter avec son prêt, 100 paires de chaussures. Elle s’approvisionne auprès des grossistes de Bougouni. Elle effectue sa vente à domicile et au marché à une clientèle composée de femmes et d’hommes, en détail, au comptant et à crédit.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 30.000.FCFA par mois dont une partie sera utilisée pour l’appui de son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes et l’autre partie sera investie dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
