Mwanakombo is a 52-year-old married woman with two children, one child is enrolled in school.
Mwanakombo operates a food stall, which is located at the market centre. She has been in this business for 1 year, and she aspires to open a restaurant in the future. Mwanakombo lives in her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. She joined Yehu to access funds, and she describes market competition to be her major challenge.
With the loan of 10,000 KES, she will be able to add stock of rice and wheat flour to her food stall.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
