Zurab is 22 years old. He lives in a small village in Telavi District, East Georgia. Zurab lives with his mother, grandparents and younger sister. His mother works as a pharmacist in Telavi. Zurab’s sister is a student.
Zurab is busy with the family agricultural business. He takes care of three milk cows. Zurab produces yogurt and sells it to Telavi grocery stores. In addition, the family owns a 0.2-hectare vineyard. Zurab works hard in the vineyard to get a good harvest. He sells it to the local wine-producing factories. The total average monthly income of the family is 700 Laris, including the pensions of Zurab’s grandparents.
Zurab requested a loan for purchasing a milk cow. With four milk cows, he will be able to increase production and sales of yogurt by 30%. The income of the family will increase and they will be able to purchase additional household goods, which are needed in the village, to improve their living conditions.
