Zurab is 33 years old. He lives in the Kareli District with his mother, Tamar. Their only source of the income is agriculture. Zurab and Tamar spend most of their time farming. They work hard, especially in the spring to complete seasonal works properly. The family also owns two milk cows and five pigs. They sell on average 40 piglets and 30 kg of home-made cheese to local retailers. They grow tomatoes, cabbage and beets on 3.3 hectare of family land. They sell harvested vegetables to local retailers as well. Total average monthly income of the family is 700 Laris.
Zurab requested credit to finance seasonal agricultural works. In particular, he will rent a tractor to til the land, purchase fertilizers and vegetables’ seeds and feed for pigs. Zurab and Tamar will hope that the weather conditions are favorable to help yield a good harvest. Income will pay for their daily expenses.
