The customer, is a member of a lending group. She is a young, ambitious woman of 33 years of age. This customer is a business woman who lives alone and has never been married. She is the mother of 4 children and supports them alone. She sells second hand clothing and started her small business selling small items (donuts, bread, biscuits, soap, sugar, etc.) along the side of the road. Later on, she was introduced to the business of selling second hand clothes by her family.

She regularly benefits from loans to strengthen her business. The profits from her business are used to build her savings, buy food and pay for her children's educational expenses and the household bills. She has just received her 17th loan. In spite of the demands of everyday life and the responsibility of taking care of her children, she faces life bravely and serenely, and has decided to increase her loan amount for this new cycle. This new loan should be used to buy 2 bales of second hand clothing. She would also like to watch her children grow up comfortably and buy a plot of land in the future.

The customer thanks Hekima for its actions to empower women with lower incomes.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
