Tharan, 40, is widowed and resides with her husband and daughter in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.
She has been selling vegetables for more than ten years, earning approximately USD 5 per day. Her daughter is employed in a garment factory. She earns about USD 4 per day.
In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Tharan is requesting a loan of USD 1,500 to raise capital in her business to purchase more vegetables to resell.
By doing so, she would be able to make more profit to support the family. In the future, she would like to use the profit to expand her business.
