Las De La Unidad Group
In this Group: Blanca Esthela, Maria Angelica, Martha, Rosa Lidia, Ruby
Las de la Unidad are a solidarity group that has already been with this institution for 7 cycles. They chose this name because it is the name of the place where they live. During this time they have stood out as an excellent group in which everyone helps each other when they have problems.

María Angélica is one of the women in the group. She is 32 years old and lives in common-law marriage with her partner, with whom she has 3 children who are 16, 14 and 7 years old. She makes and sells flour tortillas. When she started she only offered her products to close friends, now she is going out to offer her tortillas to grocery stores near her neighborhood.

María Angélica requested this loan because she wants to take advantage of the success that she is having selling her tortillas. She wants to use this loan to buy a mechanical tortilla press and a larger grill so she can increase her sales and satisfy all of her clients.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
