Jimmy is forty-three years old, married, and has seven children. To make a living, Jimmy owns and operates a business raising fish. He is from the village of Poblacion 4, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. Jimmy has been in this business for five years and earns PHP 6,968 a month.
In 2007, Jimmy joined GDMPC. Jimmy is now requesting a loan of PHP 2,756 which will be used to buy materials to repair fishing nets. He plans to use any additional revenue to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
