Update on Maria SabinaMaría is a 49-year-old woman. She is a single mother and has one child. She lives in her father's house in the small village of Las Mercedes de Partidor, in Las Lomas district. She lives in the rural part of the district but has electricity.
María's business consists of farming and livestock raising. She sows her crops together with her father. They have 7 hectares of land but only grow crops on 2 hectares and rent the rest out. As regards the livestock raising, they have suitable pens for raising sheep, pigs and farmyard birds. When they reach an ideal size and weight, they sell them in the local market.
María has requested a loan for 2,000 soles which she will use to buy fertilizers so that she can carry out the second fertilization of her rice crop.
La actividad que desarrolla María es la agricultura y ganadería, y siembra conjuntamente con su padre; el terreno es 7.0 has. Pero ellos solo siembran 2.0 y el resto las arriendan. Para el caso de la ganadería cuentan con corrales apropiados para la crianza de ganado ovino, porcino y aves de corral, los cuales al alcanzar tamaño y peso ideal los comercializa en el mercado local.

Concurrent and Successive Loans
Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.
This borrower has been listed on Kiva before, so you'll see an updated loan description, as well as excerpts of the original descriptions from earlier loans. Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
