Justine is married and has three children, all of whom are enrolled in school. For the last six years, she has earned a living by running a pub. She works in the pub and sells to all types of people on a retail basis. She is applying for a loan for 1,000,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more crates of beer, soda and gin. Her major business challenges include transportation of supplies and a failure of customers to pay bills. Her goal is to expand her business into a full-service pub. Justine lives in a home that she rents and where her family has access to electricity and piped-in water. Her monthly expenses include rent and school fees.
