Josphine is a married woman with three children, all enrolled in school. She operates a bodaboda (motorcycle) transport business, and was previously a water vendor. She has been in this business for the last two years. Josphine owns a house that has electricity and piped water. She is married to Dzuya, a businessman.
Her business does not do well during the rainy season, which poses a challenge to her. She aspires to hire employees in the future, and she describes her greatest monthly expense to be school fees.
With the Ksh 80,000, she plans to buy another motorcycle for business operations.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
