Yoleny is a 65 year old women who has worked many years in the sale of cosmetics and catalog products. As a client of the foundation, she has been supported with various loans, in which she has been characterized by her excellent record of payment. With the previous loan that she received from Kiva funds, she was able to finance the purchase of merchandise and thus pay some medical expenses for her son who was sick. Yoleny is a very hard-working woman and always supportive of her family. She supports her children in every way possible, but also enjoys her work and the income allows her to have a good quality of life.
La Sra Yoleny es una mujer de 65 años,quien se ha dedicado a la venta de cosmeticos y articulos de catálogo desde hace muchos años, siendo cliente de la fundación se le ha apoyado con varios créditos en los cuales se ha caracterizado por tener una exelente moral de pago. Con el crédito anterior que se le otorgó con fondos de Kiva ella pudo financiar la compra de mercadería , y así pagar algunos gastos de medicinas para su hijo que estaba enfermo. Doña Yoleny es una mujer muy trabajadora y siempre solidaria con sus familia, ella procura apoyar a sus hijos en lo que le sea posible, pero también disfruta su trabajo , y las gananacias le permiten tener una buena calidad de vida.

In Costa Rica, funding for microfinance institutions is hard to come by, and many institutions find themselves having difficulty growing and reaching all the demand for loans that exist. Kiva works with Fundacion Mujer because it attends a very marginalized population in Costa Rica, with a specific focus on women. In addition to the loan, Fundacion Mujer provides specialized training programs for their borrowers on everything from computer classes to salon training. Because of the difficulty in obtaining capital in Costa Rica, Fundacion Mujer cannot serve all the women that need loans. Therefore Kiva plays a unique role in helping Fundacion Mujer grow its portfolio and reach borrowers it otherwise would not be able to.
