Samson is a father of six children who are all adults. He has been in farming for more than 40 years. His farm produces maize, beans, and tobacco for the local market.
Samson has requested a loan of 40,000 KES to help him buy two bulls that will help in breeding and transporting his farm produce, especially maize and beans, from the farm to the stores and nearby markets. He adds that hiring transportation services during harvesting seasons and to the nearby markets is costly. He believes the farming income will help improve his standard of living.
He mentions lack of enough rains to enable irrigation as a challenge, coupled with high costs for water harvesting tanks.
