A group of neighbors and friends formed the communal bank “Señor del Cautivo” in the district and province of Urubamba. The communal bank formed four years ago and is well organized. This communal bank is made up of fifteen people who are searching each opportunity in order to get ahead and with their daily efforts to provide a better future for their children. The economic activities of the members are, for example, selling crafts, plaster, wood, corn liquor, vegetables, flowers, and fruits, and others offer their services, for example, as masons or construction workers.

Mr. Fortunato is raising his hand in the photograph. Mr. Fortunato was born in the district of Maras in the province of Urubamba and lives where he was born. He is 40 years old, married and from this beautiful relationship he has four children. Fortunato’s main economic activity is making plaster. He has a little workshop at home where he makes the plaster, which supplements his work as a mason. At this time the borrower Fortunato is requesting a loan in order to maintain his machinery and also to buy firewood. Fortunato’s dream is to buy a car in order to transport his merchandise to different cities.

The borrowers across-the-board appreciate the opportunity offered and they promise to make the various payments on time as agreed.

Un grupo de vecinos y amigos formaron el banco comunal “Señor del Cautivo” en el distrito de Urubamba de la provincia de Urubamba. Ya son cuatro años que funciona el banco comunal y está bien organizado. Este banco comunal está conformado por quince personas que buscan a cada momento las oportunidades para salir adelante y con su esfuerzo diario entregar un mejor futuro a sus hijos. Las actividades económicas de los socios son por ejemplo; venta de artesanía, yeso, madera, chicha de maíz, verduras, flores, frutas y otros brindan servicios como por ejemplo albañilería y construcción.

El señor Fortunato nació en el distrito de maras de la provincia de Urubamba y vive donde nació, tiene 40 años de edad, es casado y fruto de esta hermosa relación tiene cuatro hijos. Su actividad económica principal del socio Fortunato es la elaboración de yeso, él tiene un pequeño taller en su domicilio donde produce yeso. Su actividad económica complementaria es la albañilería. En esta oportunidad el socio Fortunato requiere el préstamo para hacer el mantenimiento de las maquinarias y también comprar leña. Su anhelo de Fortunato es comprase un carro para transportar su mercadería a diferentes ciudades.

Los socios en general agradecen la oportunidad brindada y se comprometen a cumplir con el pago de sus diferentes cuotas en los plazos establecidos.
