A loan of $325 helped to buy sandals, hats, and swimsuits.

Maria Santos's story

Sra. María is a 49-year-old single mother. She is married, but currently separated from her husband. María lives with her daughter and granddaughter. She has four children (ages 32, 30, 28, and 25). María and her daughter live in the neighbor of Valle in southern Honduras. For the past 10 years, she has been selling groceries, soft drinks, water, juices, sandals, and undergarments from her business in Coyolito. Doña María is an enterprising and determined individual who wants to succeed.

She is requesting her third loan from PRISMA in the amount of 6,000 HNL so that she can buy sandals, hats, and swimsuits. Doña María sells these products in her business during the summer season. With her earnings, she intends to pay her loan and improve her house since it lacks flooring. She wants to live in a decent manner. Doña María dreams of whitewashing her house and seeing her daughter have a business of her own.
