Youssef is a 62-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife, only child and one relative. He’s the main source of income for his family.
Youssef started his own business as an electrician in 1977. His work consists of setting and installing home electricity. He works upon request on a free-lance basis. Today, he asks for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to renew and buy added electrical tools for his new project. This will definitely boost his work and thus his profits. In the future, he plans to better develop his business and hire someone to work on his behalf.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
