Janet is a married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She lives in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past one year, she has operated a retail shop business, selling to her neighbors and passersby. She dreams of expanding to a wholesale shop in the future.
With the loan of Kshs 30,000, she wants to purchase items such as wheat flour, maize flour and sugar for her store. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
