The “La Vida Plena” (The Full Life) communal bank is formed by 8 female and 1 male members who live around Paute Canton located in the northeast sector of Azuay Province. Paute’s population is one of the hardest working and most enterprising in Azuay Province. They’ve known how to face up to challenges, to adapt to changes and to innovate to lead in new lines of production. They have a typical cuisine and flower production makes this canton a virtual garden. The highest quality roses are grown for export as well as a great variety of other flowers. Its people are very warmhearted and still keep the flame of their traditions and the culture of its peoples lit.

One of the members of this group is María Verónica, 20. She’s a single mother of an 11-month old daughter. She does not own a house; she lives with her sister in their grandmother’s house. For the moment, María Verónica is caring for her daughter but since she spends most of her time at home she raises guinea pigs and pigs to sell in her community.

She’s in her second loan with the communal bank and she will use it to buy guinea pigs, pigs and animal feed to continue growing in this business. Her dream is to continue with her university studies and become a great professional.

El banco comunal La Vida Plena está formado por 8 socias y 1 socio quienes viven por los alrededores del cantón Paute que se encuentra ubicado en el sector nor-oriental de la provincia del Azuay, la población de Paute es una de las más laboriosas y emprendedoras de la provincia de Azuay, han sabido afrontar los desafíos, adaptarse a los cambios e innovar para liderar nuevas líneas de producción. Cuentan con gastronomía típica y su producción de flores hace de este cantón un verdadero jardín, se cultiva para exportación rosas de la más alta calidad y una gran variedad de flores. Su gente es de un corazón muy cálido, aun mantienen encendida la llama de sus tradiciones y la cultura de sus pueblos.

Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señorita. María Verónica, tiene 20 años, es madre soltera de una niña de 11 meses de edad. No tiene casa propia por lo que vive con su hermana en casa de su abuelita.

La Señorita. María Verónica se dedica por el momento al cuidado de su hija y cómo pasa la mayor de su tiempo en casa cría cuyes y cerdos a los que los vende en su comunidad.

Se encuentra en su segundo crédito que realiza en el banco comunal y lo va a invertir en la compra cuyes, cerdos y en su alimento de animales para seguir creciendo en este negocio.

Su sueño es seguir sus estudios Universitarios y llegar a ser una gran profesional.
