In this Group: Ysabel, Maria, Leocadia, Antonio, Marleny, Cruz, Agustina, Hilaria, Faustina, Yrene, Mercedes, Juliana, Evangelista, Maria, Melida
Ysabel is the coordinator of her group, Progresando en Valores 1, 2 & 3 (Progress in Values). Her group is located in Samana, a lush, rugged peninsula with a nascent tourism industry. She makes her home in a simple structure with her long-term partner and four children. She says that her most difficult challenge is to finish building her house. She has been building her home little by little, adding rooms and finishing last details. In the meantime, she continues to enjoy sewing.

Ysabel is excited to be taking her fourth loan with Esperanza. She has had her business, which she started with some savings, for almost four years. She plans to use this loan to increase her inventory by buying men's and women's clothes. She will use the profits to continue building her house. Her dreams are to work hard and move her business forward, and with the help of God, she will. She thanks all of you for your support!

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
