Korir is a resident of Litein, South Rift, Kenya where he has been practicing mixed farming for the last six years and currently is supplying his milk and tea to the local markets. He also operates a motorcycle transport business popularly known as “boda boda”
Korir has requested a loan of 45,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy a chuff cutter, which will help in better feeding for his dairy animals. He adds that this machine will help reduce wastage of the fodder feed and man hours spent on preparing the feed. He says his improved income will help him to establish a good foundation for his family.
He laments of hostile weather conditions.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
