Sergei
Sergei, his wife and two adult children live in the Vodyanoye village. He is involved in growing early vegetables in greenhouses on his plot of land. Sergei has five large greenhouses and two separate spacious greenhouses for seedlings. He has been independently involved in growing vegetables for 20 years. 150 000 hryvnia has been invested into this business. The annual expenses for seeds and plastic amount to 60 000 hryvnia. Sergei hopes to use the 20 000 hryvnia Kiva loan to buy coal and wood for heating the greenhouses and keeping the appropriate temperature for greenhouse conditions. Sergei plans to invest 15 000 hryvnia into the purchase of coal and 5 000 hryvnia into the purchase of wood. Because the heating system was only added this year, now the expenses for coal and wood increased. In the future, Sergei plans to install another boiler in the greenhouses, so that it would be warmer and result in a faster harvest, and also plans to build another greenhouse.
