Hanifah
Hanifah is 32 years old and lives in the town of Kalerwe in the Kampala east region of Uganda. She is married and has 2 children who are both currently in school. For the past 2 years, Hanifah has been working hard to manage her small shop, which sells video CD's.

To help expand her business, Hanifah has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more video CD's for resale, and will help Hanifah to generate greater profits and cover medical expenses for her family. Hanifah hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business.

Hanifah is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Hanifah who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
