Dzua is a married man with 6 children, and 4 are in school. He owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. He operates a kiosk and intends to use the Ksh 50,000 to pay school fees and expand his business by buying sugar and rice. His customers are the neighbors and passersby. Seasonality is his major challenge. Dzua has been in the business for the last 2 years. He joined Yehu to get capital for his business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
