A group of neighbors and friends formed the “Senor de Coylloriti” communal bank in the district of Cusco. The communal bank is composed of a dozen people who are always searching for opportunities to get ahead, and with their daily efforts, to provide a better future for their children. The members' economic activities are, for example; selling products of primary necessity, clothing, meals, kebabs, cosmetics, delicacies, and buying and selling tourist tickets, plus other services.

Ana, who is raising her hand in the photograph, was born in the city of Cusco and lives in the same city where she was born. She is 60 years old, married, and 8 children are the fruit of this union. Ana's principal economic activity is selling kebabs on the street of her neighborhood. On this occasion, Ana needs a loan to buy supplies; for example, meat, potatoes, and oil to prepare kebabs.

The members in general are grateful for the loan opportunity offered and they commit themselves to making their payments as scheduled.

Cusco is located in the district, province, and department of Cusco, right in the heart of the ancient city of the Incas. It is characterized as a tourist zone with its archaeological and historical centers, its landscapes and its history, and for being an enchanting city in the Southern Region of the country. Cusco is also known as a very touristy and commercial zone, and famous for its traditional fiesta of Inti Raymi, and because, nearby, one encounters Macchu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Un grupo de vecinos y amigos formaron el banco comunal “Señor De Coylloriti” en el distrito del Cusco. Este banco comunal está conformado por doce personas que buscan a cada momento las oportunidades para salir adelante y con su esfuerzo diario entregar un mejor futuro a sus hijos. Las actividades económicas de las socias son por ejemplo; venta de productos de primera necesidad, venta de ropa, venta de comida, venta de anticuchos, venta de cosméticos, venta y compra de boletos turísticos, venta de manjar y otros brindan servicios.

La socia Ana nació en la ciudad del Cusco y vive en la misma ciudad donde nació, tiene 60 años de edad y es casada y fruto de esta unión tiene ocho hijos. Su actividad económica principal de Ana es la venta de Anticuchos de forma ambulatoria en su barrio. En esta oportunidad Ana requiere el préstamo para comprar insumos como por ejemplo carne, papa y aceite para preparar anticuchos.

Los socios en general agradecen la oportunidad brindada y se comprometen a cumplir con el pago de sus diferentes cuotas en los plazos establecidos.

Cusco está ubicado en el distrito y provincia del Cusco del departamento del Cusco en pleno corazón de la antigua ciudad de los Incas y se caracteriza por ser una zona turística por sus centros arqueológicos por su centro histórico por sus paisajes por su historia y siendo una ciudad encantadora de la Región del Sur del país. Cusco es conocido por ser una zona muy turística, comercial, por su fiesta tradicional del Inti Raymi y porque se encuentra una de las siete maravillas del mundo “Machupicchu”.

Asociación Arariwa is a large non-governmental organization that started offering microcredit in 1994 to improve the quality of life, skills and equity of the population in the rural Cusco region of Peru.
