Jenniffer Beatriz
Jenniffer is a 24-year-old single mother whose two children are 1 and 3 years old. They live together in Río Verde Parish in Santo Domingo, which is a canton in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas province--one of the most densely populated provinces in Ecuador. Beautiful monuments have been placed throughout the city; one of these is Monumento al Indio Colorado [Monument to the Red Indian, a historic reference to the dyed hair of the Tsáchila people] in an area known as Y del Colorado. Santo Domingo is a unique canton, with wonderful, enterprising people who work tirelessly for development and progress and always welcome tourists with open arms and take them to see the wonders of their culture and surroundings.

Jenniffer has been the owner of a beauty salon for the past 8 years. She has won over clients because she loves her work. Being a working mother is difficult; however, she has learned how to manage as well as she can. She needs to update her furniture and replace her styling tools and has come to Fundación Alternativa, which is the intermediary between Jenniffer and KIVA, to request the financing she needs. This is her second loan with this institution. She told us that she likes the payment arrangements and the friendly service she receives. Jenniffer has been on time with her payments.

Her dream is to have her own home where she can make her children more comfortable. With this investment, she hopes to attract more clients, to have more income, and to improve her quality of life.
