Sok Chan, 33, is married and resides with her husband and two children in Kampong Chnang Province, Cambodia. She has been working in a garment factory for over five years, earning approximately US $3 per day. Her husband is a construction worker who earns about US $4 per day.
Due to the difficulty of her family’s transportation, Sok Chan is requesting a loan of US $800 to purchase a motorbike to commute. This purchase would enable her to use the saved money on her transportation expenses to support her family. In the future, she would like to run an agricultural business to generate more income to support her family and help her children get bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her house to make it more comfortable for her family.
