Sam Un, 44, is married and resides with her husband and one school-aged child in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been selling groceries for over ten years, earning approximately US $25 per day. Her husband is a construction foreman who can earn about US $13 per day.
Due to the difficulty of the family’s transportation, Sam Un is requesting a loan of US $1,000 to purchase a motorbike to commute. This purchase would enable her to use the saved money to support her family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her child get a bachelor’s degree. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it more comfortable for her family.
