Sok, 60, is widowed and resides with five children in Kampong Chnang Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in growing rice, vegetables, and fattening up cattle for over twenty years, earning approximately US $4 per day. All of her children are employed in garment factories. They earn approximately US $15 per day.
Due to the difficulty of the family’s transportation, Sok is requesting a loan of US $900 to purchase a motorbike to commute. This purchase would enable her to use the saved money on her transportation expenses to support her family. In the future, she would like to run an additional animal husbandry business and to build a new house.
