Sokunthea, 31, is married and resides with her husband and two children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been working in a garment factory for over three years, earning approximately USD 3 per day.
Sokunthea's husband runs a public transportation service. He earns about USD 4 per day. Because his present motorbike is too old; Sokunthea is requesting a loan of USD 500 to purchase a new motorbike for her husband to replace the old one, which will enable him to continue to run his service. This purchase will enable her husband to attract more customers and earn more income to support the family.
In the future, she would like to run an additional business of buying rice to resell at a profit to generate extra income to support the family and help her children obtain a bachelor’s degree.
