Vanh, 51, is married and lives with her husband and three children in Takeo province, Cambodia. She has been growing rice and fattening up cattle for over 20 years, earning approximately $2 US per day. Her husband is a farm worker who earns about $3 US per day. Two of her children are garment workers. They earn about $6 US per day.
In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Vanh is requesting a loan of $800 US to purchase cattle to raise and resell at a profitable price when they gain weight. By doing so, she will generate more profit to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her youngest son get a bachelor’s degree. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it bigger and more comfortable for her family’s living conditions.
