Sok, 59, is married and resides with her husband and three children in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been selling breakfast food (porridge, noodles) for over twenty years, earning approximately USD 4 per day. Her husband helps her run the business. All of her children are employed in a garment factory. Approximately, they earn USD 12 per day.
Due to the difficulty with the family’s transportation, Sok is requesting a loan of USD 1300 to purchase a motorbike to commute. This purchase would enable her to use the money saved on her transportation expenses to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her children get Bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it bigger and more convenient for her family to live in.
