Thavy, 37, is married and resides with her husband and four children in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia.
She has been selling fish for over 20 years, earning approximately USD 11 per day. Her husband runs a business of purchasing horses to resell and earns about USD 5 per day. Two of her children are employed. They are a construction worker and a horse cart runner. They earn about USD 5 per day.
In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Thavy is requesting a loan of USD 1,000 to raise capital in her husband’s business for purchasing horses to resell. By doing so, her husband would generate more profit to support the family.
In the future, she would like to use the further profit to expand her husband’s business and help her children get bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it bigger and more comfortable for her family’s living.
