Voeurn, 55, is married and resides with her husband and six children in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. She has been selling groceries and firewood for over three years, earning approximately USD 3 per day. Her husband is a marriage broker who earns approximately USD 2 per day. Three of her children are employed: two are construction workers and one is a creel (basket) maker. Due to the difficulty of the family’s transportation, Voeurn is requesting a loan of USD 1,200 to purchase a motorbike to use for commuting. This purchase would enable her to use the saved money on her transportation expenses to support her family. In the future, she would like to expand her grocery store and help her children get bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it bigger to provide enough space for her family.
