Sarah is a 48-year-old resident of Guba, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She has provided for her seven children's needs from the little amount of 8,000 PHP she earns monthly from her own piggery business for 15 years, as an aid to the income earned by her husband.
However in 2006 she joined GDMPC, and she is applying for a loan from GDMPC's micro-finance amounting to 10,000 PHP to buy feeding supplies and for the cost of shelter repair. She wants expand her business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
