Alicia is a member of the communal bank BIENESTAR. She is 64 years old and has nine children. For over ten years she has been a member of FINCA Perú, and she sells ecological dyes, "cochinilla" and "tara", for a living. Thanks to her savings she was able to build a house and buy furniture. She enjoys the training she receives at the communal bank meetings because she learns how to save money, run a business and distribute her earnings, which is something she cannot learn elsewhere. She plans to use the loan to buy "tara" and "cochinilla".
