Makali is 51 years old, married and has 8 children. He runs a retail shop and sells charcoal to earn a living. He has been in the business for 34 years and employs one person. Since he joined Faulu Kenya, he has been able to educate his children and hopes to expand his retail shop to a wholesale shop in the future. He has applied for a 60,000 Kenya Shillings loan to buy charcoal for selling.
