Toluca Group's story

The following group is called “Toluca” and is located in Santo Domingo de Guzmán in the township of Ixtlahuaca. This is a location that has all basic public services and many commercial locales like grocery stores, bakeries, chicken shops, butcher shops, etc. This group, which incidentally is a family group as well, decided to name their group thus because they are al soccer fans and their favorite team is “Toluca” and this motivates them to use it as an example; they say that in sports one loses and one wins but what’s important is not to become discouraged. They relate this to life; in life there are victories and defeats but they say that they never give up in face of life’s difficulties. This is a very united, enterprising family. The names of the group members and their activities are as follows:

1.- Agustín S. (will buy eggs, sugar, soap, oil, milk, etc. by the case to sell)
2.- Susana Adilene S. (will buy soup, marmalade, disposables, toilet paper, etc. to sell)
3.- Lourdes G. (will buy candy, soft-drinks, ice products, bottled water, etc. to sell)
4.- Guadalupe Abigail S. (will buy dairy products, cookies, tuna, sardines, etc. to sell)

Agustín, aside from being the father of this family, is also the group representative. He’s 40 years old, married for 21 years to Lourdes who tends to their home and their business. Agustín and his family are requesting this loan to buy eggs, sugar, soap, oil, milk, soup, marmalade, disposables, toilet paper, candy, soft-drinks, water, cookies, tuna, sardines, etc. for their general store that has been in operation for 15 years already.

Agustín decided to open this general store on is own initiative even though it was complicated at first for lack of money. This is why he approached loans that have helped him lift up his business bit by bit. He goes to the main town every 8 days to get merchandise for his store which is located in his house.

Agustín says: “There are many goals. One of them is to become a wholesale or half-wholesale firm in my region. I want to supply nearby stores.” Agustín is very enthusiastic and all he needs is one more push for his business. A loan will help him improve his general store and his life expectations.

In this group: Agustin, Susana Adilene, Lourdes, Guadalupe Abigail
