Nidia De Jesus
Nidia is a person who is always described as very hardworking and this quality has allowed her to overcome great adversity that has come up in life. Nidia is a single mother of 4 children whom she says are her biggest motivation for working so hard. Previously Nidia lived in another town with her husband, but big problems with violence made her move from this town where 2 of her children were murdered. Later, her husband left her and contributes nothing to supporting her 4 children. Nidia had to seek a business that would allow her to have some income to feed her children and have a worthy house. That was how she started selling women's clothing and accessories. She gained more and more customers and generated good sales. Later, Nidia had a good business, which allowed her to acquire a locale in a mall and keep offering the clothing and accessories with better sales and more recognition among her customers. Thanks to the good sales she has had, Nidia seeks a loan to afford her the opportunity to buy women's clothing and accessories to sell at her business.

Nidia dreams of good sales and of continuing to recover from the great difficulties she has had in life. She hopes her children will have a good quality of life and financial stability in her home.

Important Information

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
