Elizabeth lives with her three children who are 19, 13 and 10 years old. Her oldest son attends the university studying Civil Industrial Engineering. His dream is to become a professional.

Curicó is located in the Maule Region in the center of the country. Curicó’s climate is Mediterranean and considered one of the country’s most pleasant. It’s also noted for its culture associated with wine making and for the natural beauty of its surroundings. Despite rising employment this zone continues to be, according to the latest census, one of the country’s poorest.

Ella se dedica a prestar servicios de belleza, ya que es de profesión estilista, comenta que habilitó su propio salón de belleza al interior de su casa. Y que se dedica a éste rubro desde hace 24 años.
Trabaja de lunes a sábado con un horario flexible, sin embargo los días de más demanda de sus servicios, trabaja en horario continuado.
Comenta que cuenta con un gran número de clientela fija.
Sus utensilios y materiales que necesita los compra en la ciudad de Santiago, en el comercio para profesionales, donde los precios sean más convenientes económicamente.
Con el crédito comprará una plancha para cabello, máquina de depilación, un secador de pelo, materiales de construcción para mejorar la infraestructura del local y costear los servicios de gasfitería, para realizar la mantención de su calefont.
Una de sus metas es instalarse con una escuela de estilistas, para que estudiantes de estética se puedan perfeccionar en distintas áreas. De esta manera enseñar y titular buenos profesionales.
Elizabeth vive junto a sus tres hijos de 19, 13 y 10 años de edad. Su hijo mayor estudia en la Universidad la carrera de Ingeniería Civil Industrial. Sus sueños son realizarse profesionalmente.
Ella está muy contenta y agradecida de la oportunidad brindada por Fondo esperanza, ya que el préstamo le permitirá invertir en su negocio.
Por su parte, con las capacitaciones ha aprendido a organizar de mejor manera la contabilidad de su negocio, ya que ahora registra sus ingresos y gastos.
Respecto al grupo del Banco comunal del cual forma parte, éste es muy responsable y comprometido, por lo que Elizabeth se siente muy cómoda.
Curicó se ubica en la región del Maule, zona centro del país. El clima de Curicó es de tipo mediterráneo y es considerado como uno de los más agradables del país. Se caracteriza además por su cultura en torno al vino y sus alrededores de belleza natural. A pesar de que la fuerza de trabajo se ha incrementado, esta zona sigue siendo, según el último censo, una de las más pobres del país.

About Fondo Esperanza

Fondo Esperanza (FE) is a private non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurship by providing micro-credit and training to people living in poverty in well over 100 cities throughout Chile. By providing these services, FE aims to improve the living conditions of the entrepreneurs and their families. In 2010, FE provided loans to more than 41,000 entrepreneurs. It utilizes a communal banking model in which groups of 18 to 25 clients meet on regularly and guarantee each other’s loans. The members use their portion of the loan to create or expand their own businesses. In the group meetings, clients receive training though the FE Entrepreneurship School, which enhances clients’ personal and business skills and ability to work in groups.
