Hadiyeh is a 49-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband. They’re both cooperating together in order to have a respectable life.
Hadiyeh has been working as a tailor for the past nine years from her home. She’s well known as a reputable person and has gained a fair number of customers from all over the neighboring villages. Her husband has been also working as a constructor for 14 years.
Today, she’s looking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase a tailoring machine for her business. This Kiva loan will boost her productivity and thus her revenues.
In the future, she plans to open her own evening dresses shop and expand her business outside the country.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
