Dounia is a 33-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s single and lives with her parents. She only has one working sibling. She cooperates with her brother to satisfy the family's needs. For this reason, she strives to work really hard.
In 2004, Dounia opened her own grocery shop. She has a wide variety of goods and products as well as a fair number of loyal customers. Today, she’s asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase added products for her shop such as soft drinks, dairy products and many other items.
Dounia notes that this loan will increase her sales and therefore her profits and revenue. In the future, she plans to open her own mini-market.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
