Igor, his wife, and teenage son live in the village of Maryanovka, Kherson oblast. He is in the greenhouse farming business on a piece of land 12.5 ha in size. On 0.26 ha, he grows 4,000 early tomato bushes, in addition to 50,000 bushes of later tomatoes, 50,000 head of cabbage and 80,000 winter onions in the fields. He has been farming for 8 years. His working capital amounts to 120,000 hryven. His net profit is a little more than 6,600 hryven.

Igor is hoping to use a loan through Kiva of 20,000 hryven in order to buy 1,800 hryven worth of fertilizer, to build a new greenhouse with 12,000 hryven and to install a heating system in it with 6,200 hryven.
