Irma is 42 years old. She lives in a small village of Gori District, East Georgia, with her family: husband, Tamaz, 16-year-old daughter, and 6-year-old son. The children go to school.
The family earns a living through the agricultural business. They have a dairy farm with three milk cows. Irma produces cheese and sells on average 60 kg of this product to local dairy products retailers. Along with the dairy farm, the family owns six hectares of agricultural land, where they grow wheat, maize, haricot (beans), tomatoes, and cabbage. On the same plot the family grows 400 apple trees, but they are too young and don’t give fruit. Irma and Tamaz sell harvested vegetables locally to greengrocery retailers. The total average monthly income of the family equals to 1,500 Laris.
Irma requested credit for purchasing additional agricultural land. She will use it for vegetable growing. She will harvest more vegetables and get more income from sales.
Irma plans to use the increase in income for renovation of the family’s house, which is old and needs some repair.
