Evgenia is a 36-year-old farmer from a small village in Kareli District. She is a widow and lives with her children: an 18-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son. Both of them go to local school. Evgenia earns a living through an agricultural business. The family has a small dairy farm with two milk cows and two calves. Evgenia produces various dairy products (such as cheese and yogurt) and sells them in the village. In addition, the family owns one hectare of land, where Evgenia grows tomatoes, cabbage, and peppers. Harvested products are sold locally as well. The total average monthly income of the family is 530 Georgia Laris (GEL).
Evgenia requested credit for purchasing vegetable seeds and fertilizers. She also has an old tractor, which is out of order. Part of the credit will be used for repairing it. After the tractor is fixed, Evgenia will rent it out for additional income. She will use the increased income for financing the education of her children.
