Bedetha lives in Santa Cruz, Tangub City. She is 31 years old and blessed with two children. Her husband is a government employee.
She decided to buy a motorcycle for transport to support her husband in finding ways to earn an income. She earns through providing transportation in the community. Bedetha has been in this business for four years. In the years of having this business the inflows were great and she was able to earn PHP 6,500 a month. Bedetha also has another line of business, selling "okay-okay" or used clothes.
Earlier she joined GDMPC to seek financial assistance. She is requesting a loan in the amount of 10,000 PHP to purchase spare parts for the motor transport business. Some of this loan amount will be invested in her "okay-okay" business.
Bedetha hopes that from the income generated she will be able to grow and sustain her business and reinvest back into the business a portion of the profit earned. Additionally, she hopes to improve the living situation of the family for better lives.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
