Jeva is from Barangay Maquilao, Tangub City, Misamis Occidental. She is 34 years of age, married, and has one school-aged child. Her husband is working abroad.
She is in this business to help earn an income. To make a living, Jeva owns and operates a business venture in the retail sector specializing in selling a variety of products - mostly families' basic needs - in the community. Jeva had been in this business for 5 years and earns approximately 3,300 PHP per month. This is the primary source of income for Ms. Jeva. She came to the GDMPC office and applied for a loan of 13,000 PHP to purchase supplementary grocery goods to sell. Jeva's revenue will be reinvested back to the business to double the return and a portion of the profit will be used for the education of her child.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services.
